Departments and upgrade tiers
Each department in the supermarket functions as its own income stream. Upgrading a department raises its stock capacity, customer throughput, and earnings per second. Unlocking a new department adds a fresh revenue channel and often brings a visible change to the store layout.

Managers and passive income
Hiring a manager for a department removes the need to manually restock it. This is the most important purchase in the early game because it frees you to focus on other departments while income flows in automatically. Each manager can be leveled up to increase their speed. Once all departments have managers, the game becomes genuinely idle and you mainly return to spend accumulated cash on the next expansion tier.
Tips for growing your store faster
- Hire a manager for your first department as soon as you can afford one. The passive restock pays off within minutes.
- Upgrade the checkout speed early. A backlog at the register caps income from every department at once.
- Unlock new departments over maxing out early ones. A new income stream outpaces a marginal upgrade on an already strong shelf.
- Check back every few hours rather than every few minutes once managers are in place. The idle gains add up faster than active clicking at that stage.
- Reinvest in the department with the longest restock time first. That is usually the bottleneck limiting your earnings per hour.
